How it works
Keg and serving sizes are converted to milliliters (1 US gallon = 3,785.41 ml; 1 US fluid ounce = 29.5735 ml). Servings with no loss is keg volume divided by serving size, rounded down. Expected servings subtracts the loss percent first, then divides and rounds down. Cost per serving is the keg cost divided by expected servings. Revenue is the selling price times expected servings, and gross profit is revenue minus keg cost.
Worked example
A 1/2 barrel keg (15.5 gal, about 58.7 L) poured in 16 oz servings yields 124 servings with no loss. With 10% loss it yields 111. At a keg cost of $180.00, that is $1.62 per serving. Sold at $6.00, revenue is $666.00, gross profit is $486.00 and cost is 27.03% of revenue.
Before you use the result
- Loss is your own estimate. Foam, line cleaning, warm kegs and spills vary a lot, so compare it with real counts.
- Keg sizes are nominal. Check the volume on your supplier invoice and use the custom size if it differs.
- Cost covers the beer only. It excludes glassware, labor, taxes and overhead. The currency menu changes the label and does not convert money.
