How it works
Each person’s weight is their worked time divided by the team’s total worked time. The pool is allocated in cents using those weights. Leftover cents go to the largest fractional shares, with entry order breaking ties. In clock mode, an end time earlier than the start time is treated as the next day; unpaid breaks are subtracted.
Worked example
For a $90.00 pool, one person working 4 hours and another working 5 hours receive $40.00 and $50.00. For a $100.00 pool shared by three equal shifts, the shares are $33.34, $33.33 and $33.33.
Before you use the result
- Manual hours and clock times are kept separately when you switch modes. The active mode determines the result.
- Equal start and end times mean zero hours, not a 24-hour shift. Clock mode covers shifts shorter than 24 hours.
- This tool does not decide who may receive tips, role weights, overtime, taxes or payroll rules. Confirm your workplace policy and applicable law.
